Promoting and encouraging the expansion of borders on all fronts, is what I love most about Starr Electric and my role as Senior Vice President of Business Development.

I started with Starr Electric as a field electrician back in 2004. At that point in my life I was just looking for a job. I began reporting to the Charlotte office and was assigned to a healthcare project out of state. I never believed that this job could mean anything other than that: a series of assignments. To my understanding, Starr Electric was just a large company that did “big jobs.”
I had no idea that these experiences were a launching pad for my career at Starr. For 90 years we were focused on the direct future, not on long-term trajectories. Since that time we have truly defined our purpose, vision and goals. We redefined the soul of this company. This soul has been with us since the beginning, but it had long been disconnected. This is an exciting time for Starr Electric; we are changing for the better. As Vice President, I have the opportunity to help implement these changes and enforce our core ideologies. I’m looking forward to what the future holds for our company, our clients and our employees.

The most valuable thing Starr Electric Company has given to me in my 30 years of service to this company is relationships. The Starr family treats me and my coworkers like family. Through hard times and good, Starr Electric is steadfast in its respect for its employees. Even when the economy was down and jobs were hard to come by, Starr Electric never turned its back on its people.
This company has given me the opportunity to grow and experience innovations within our industry. In the last 30 years, Starr Electric has expanded from one office in Greensboro, NC that covered three states, into a company with seven offices that cover the southeastern United States. I have found friends who became family during my time at Starr Electric and I am grateful for that every day.
